Merger Proposal[edit]

The concept of single season pages for college football teams has been the subject of extensive discussion within WikiProject College football here. The conclusion of the discussion was to combine single season pages into a page that summarizes the season under a particular coach. In this case, 1895 Auburn Tigers football team, 1896 Auburn Tigers football team, 1897 Auburn Tigers football team, 1898 Auburn Tigers football team, and 1899 Auburn Tigers football team would be all merged into a single page called Auburn Tigers football under John Heisman. Single season pages may still be appropriate if a particular season is notable and a detailed article, complete with analysis of the season and game summaries, can be created. Single season pages are also considered appropriate for very recent seasons (see, e.g. 2006 Auburn Tigers football team). --Tlmclain | Talk 15:55, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
