Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Information.svg Hello Cagliost! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 1,919 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Copyright violation at Quentin Crewe[edit]

You can't just copy text from newspapers and paste it into Wikipedia. You have to rewrite it in your own words, and you can't just change one or two words. I have stubbed Quentin Crewe to remove the copyright violations. In the future, you should use inline citations, such as <ref>...</ref>, to support text that you add, especially in a biography (biographies of living people have stricter requirements). In order to cite the same source multiple times, you can use named references, like <ref name=nyt>...</ref>. Then, when you need to use the reference again, you can cite it with <ref name=nyt/>. Remember that you must use your own words when you write an article. If you wish to use direct quotations, you can use <quote></quote> or quotation marks: Jane Journalist of The New York Times called the book "a triumphant return to form". If you choose to paraphrase someone else's words, you must give attribution: According to Jane Journalist of The New York Times, the book was a return to form for the author. After each of these statements, you would need to include a citation, of course. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 22:44, 19 June 2014 (UTC)

I've already warned you once about this. Do not add back your original text. Not only is it plagiarism, it is a copyright violation. You have changed a few words per sentence from the original NYT and Independent articles, and that is not enough. If you continue to add copyrighted text, you can be blocked. All you need to do is follow the instructions that I've stated above. In order to avoid plagiarism issues, give attribution. In order to avoid copyright issues, use your own phrasing. Don't just substitute a few words here and there in their sentences. You should also cite your sources properly; uncited information can be challenged and removed. Proposed deletion of Battle of Al Waki Market[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Battle of Al Waki Market has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unremarkable skirmish, no assertion of notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. TheLongTone (talk) 16:42, 23 June 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Jiffy Packaging Company[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Jiffy Packaging Company has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article makes no clear assertion that the topic is notable.

A page you started (The Henry Smith Charity) has been reviewed![edit]

Thanks for creating The Henry Smith Charity, Cagliost!

I've added some extra citations and categories, and linked the talk page to WikiProject Organizations. Hope that's all OK!

Wetherspoons[edit]

Hi Cagliost. People are commentating on your move request. It appears you didn't see the recent discussion on the talkpage. No worries, you can simply remove the requested move template (perhaps with a comment that it was placed in error), and that will close the matter. Hi, please can you comment on the article talk page to explain your "undue weight" and source reliability concerns. cagliost (talk) 09:24, 4 November 2016 (UTC)

Comment left on Talk Page[edit]

You left a spurious comment on my talk page indicating "Thank you for some of your contributions so far, however, some other of your contributions do not meet Wikipedia's guidelines. It is good to discuss an article on its Talk page, with the aim of improving the article, but not to discuss the subject more generally.". Clearly, not providing any indication or example of what the offending contribution was seems a little odd - would you care to give some examples to see if there is a general trend? January 2018[edit]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Bloomberg London. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. You have been politely asked before to use sources when you add content to Wikipedia. Continuing to add content without sources is disruptive and can result in you being blocked. Feel free to ask questions if you don't understand how sources are supposed to be used on Wikipedia. - MrX 14:42, 8 January 2018 (UTC)

William Gage (judge)[edit]

Thanks for creating William Gage (judge). I've added two sources, but there are still some unsourced claims that need to be referenced to reliable sources. For future reference, please also add relevant categories to any article you create. Bennv3771 (talk) 11:06, 26 September 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of J. C. W. Brook[edit]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on J. C. W. Brook requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Proposed deletion of Froy Gutierrez[edit]

Notice

The article Froy Gutierrez has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Paul Sauer moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Paul Sauer, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 23:49, 18 August 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Oliver Bonas[edit]

Hello Cagliost,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Oliver Bonas for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
