Fair use rationale for File:Miguel aiman2.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Miguel aiman2.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Vivio TestarossaTalk Who 23:08, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Information.svg Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from File:ARD recruitment chart.jpg. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Orphaned non-free media (File:710th SOW patch.jpg)

Ambox warning blue.svg Thanks for uploading File:710th SOW patch.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:03, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Rush cast.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Rush cast.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Closedmouth (talk) 07:34, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Articles for deletion nomination of Gorgom

I have nominated Gorgom, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gorgom. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

AfD nomination of Shin Matsunaga

Ambox warning pn.svg

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Shin Matsunaga. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shin Matsunaga. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:13, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Pindad Panser flyer.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Pindad Panser flyer.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. 72.88.43.119 (talk) 03:19, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

Can you revert your own edits in which you de-italicized the Unité Spéciale de la Police. It's a foreign name, like Bundeswehr; check the MOS to verify. Black God (manga)

Hello, Ominae. The reason I just moments ago reverted the Synopsis section to this version is because people keep mixing up the manga with the anime; just check the edit history of the article. For example, someone will come along and change Keita losing an arm to him losing a heart. Because of this, I feel that it is best that both versions be clearly represented in the Synopsis section. Fair use rationale for File:Rie Yamabishi.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Rie Yamabishi.jpg.

Thank you. —Farix (t | c) 16:06, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

Your raid on the Type 01 LMAT page

Notice you took down the link to the only article that dealt with the missile system that the Japanese used for the Type 01 LMAT. If you had scrolled down through the article you would have notices that while a forum only one person was posting. Also you would have noticed the drawing of the system that the Japanese got from the AAWS-M program. If you check you will notice that article while in forum format is the only one to deal with the important AAWS-M program on the internet. Also you would have noticed that one person who posted that link has written articles on antitank missiles. Besides that check the contributions. I was wondering why on earth you would be doing what you did and a stickler for the rules. When I scrolled down you talk page and the messages, I understood. But the links have been removed from the LMAT page. I have learned not to revert and get in these cat-fights. I got articles to write and improve. But if you have a chance read this page. Make life on WP a lot easier on not only others, but also yourself. Also, if you have a chance look at this page from Jane's Infantry Weapons 1995-96. Jane's is considered the gold standard for weapons references. Look very closely at the three photos. I know the huge error. But I don't use it as an example to remove Jane's references on other articles. Well got go. I was asked to re-edit an article on the OTO-Melara 76mm Compact cannon that was brought over from WP:Italian and after that I told someone I would help with an article on the RBS-70. Jack--Jackehammond (talk) 05:50, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Then that has to be cited. I'm not being a fanatic. I'm trying to make sure all contributors follow the rules. I read that article BTW thanks, but IMO and IIRC that's a forum board posting, not a web page or an article that can be used. Ominae (talk) 05:59, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

It seems that is what most WP Fanatics say: They are never WP Fanatics and just making sure all the rules are followed. And the key word in your reply was "make". In addition we have administrators to make that call. And try and ask yourself a question: What am I contributing to WP? Jack --Jackehammond (talk) 19:33, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Fine. If that's the case they can decide. If the removal of the stuff is uncalled for, then I apologize. For what I'm contributing, I contribute more than editing if that's the answer you're looking for. Ominae (talk) 02:42, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

Naw. I don't revert articles. I am going to insert a note (they allow the "Reference" section to be "References and Notes") stating that the LMAT is very similar to the lower cost option that Raytheon in 1985 offered the US Army for it AAWS-M program. In the past administrators have stated they can live with that. There will be a link in the note, but it will be in red (meaning no WP article as of yet). I hope in the near future to drag out all my notes and photos and references I had in the 1980s on the AAWS-M program and have an article. If you revert that, then that's it and I move on to this b*tch of an article on an Italian naval cannon (btw, this cannon is in wide use on Japanese warships). And thank you for taking the time to read my messages and reply. PS> A first name would be nice. Jack --Jackehammond (talk) 05:48, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

Please don't make wholesale changes to existing links to a red link. If an article needs to exist, write it, but please don't remove useful links for red links. SchmuckyTheCat (talk)

I am going to do it. Ominae (talk) 03:22, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
