Woking College, formerly known as Woking Sixth Form College, is a specialist college in the town of Woking, Surrey, United Kingdom, specialising in the sixth form curriculum. The college provides full-time education for approximately 1,300 students from 16 to 19 years old. Many students from Woking High School, the Winston Churchill School and Bishop David Brown School, go on to the college after completing their GCSEs, but the college attracts students from many other schools and often from different areas.
The college is situated in Old Woking, a short distance from Woking town centre. The college offers a variety of AS and A2 courses as well as a range of vocational courses, such as the BTEC national awards, along with a limited number of GCSE options including maths, English, science and Italian. Part-time adult education is also offered at venues across the borough, the courses include IELTs, ESOL, numeracy, mathematics and Functional Skills in Information Technology. The college is also used by other organisations such as English courses for foreign students during the summer holidays and also as a training hall for the Korean martial art Choi Kwang-Do, with the Woking CKD school being based at the college.
The college's pass rates are consistently above the national average, with the majority of courses achieving a 100% pass rate from grades A-B.
A varied programme of complementary activities is offered, from sport to drama as well as the popular Duke of Edinburgh Award and Young Enterprise schemes. The college also accommodates a learning support department for students to use at their own choice for additional support with their studies, as well as a careers department which provides information and support for life after college. The college tends to encourage students to also take the extended project while at college.
The college attracts many young aspiring footballers in the Woking F.C. youth academy scheme. Carlton Cole is a notable product of the academy, later moving to Chelsea in 2001 and being called up for the England U21 squad.
